What tomatoes are best for salads?

There are many different types of tomatoes and each is suitable for something different. We will look at tomatoes that are suitable for salads.

  • Cherry tomatoes – they are small and round, similar to a cherry, hence their name. Ideally, we choose them for salads, whether red, yellow, orange or purple. Their taste is spicy and sweet, and in addition to using them in a salad, you can also grill or cook them.
  • Grape tomatoes – often confused with cherry tomatoes because they are the same size but more oval in shape, just like grapes. They have a thicker skin which means they will hold their structure when you cook them. At the same time, they are also a great addition to any salad.
  • Roman Tomatoes – they are strong and tasty and have a really fresh taste. They are most often used in tomato sauce, but they are also commonly added to salads or sandwiches.
  • Heirloom tomatoes – come in a variety of sizes and colors. These are some of the best tomatoes that add something extra to a classic dish thanks to their rich flavor. They are great not only in salads, but also baked.
