Beef on garlic with spinach

A classic of all classics. But how about preparing it a little unconventionally? Cutting the meat into strips instead of the usual slices, using soy sauce and lemon juice, all this will be a pleasant revival.

  • 700 g of beef
  • 500 g of fresh spinach
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 cup broth
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 4 tablespoons of butter
  • freshly squeezed juice from half a lemon
  • salt pepper
  • fresh parsley and chives

  1. Cut the beef into strips and marinate them for approximately one hour in a marinade made from soy sauce, olive oil, two cloves of pressed garlic, salt and pepper.
  2. Wash the spinach and let it cook gently for 1 minute in a pan in which you have melted one tablespoon of butter. Stir the spinach throughout the cooking time.
  3. Remove the spinach from the pan and melt another two tablespoons of butter in the same pan and add the marinated beef noodles.
  4. Fry the noodles in a pan on both sides for a few minutes.
  5. Then remove the noodles from the pan and put them on a plate, which you cover so that the meat does not get too cold.
  6. Then melt the last tablespoon of butter in the pan, add the rest of the crushed garlic, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, stock, chopped fresh parsley and chives, as well as the rest of the beef marinade.
  7. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly, and let it reduce for 1-2 minutes.
  8. Return the beef noodles to the pan and simmer until tender.
  9. Then move the noodles to one side of the pan and place the pre-prepared spinach on the other side, which should be warmed in the juice.

This dish can only be served like this, garnished with slices of lemon and pieces of fresh chives or parsley. Alternatively, it can of course also be served classically with a potato dumpling.
