This simple spread with corn, black beans and chopped pork belly is a recipe that came to us all the way from Texas. It’s a classic side dish to nibble on, for example, when an important American football game is on.
What will we need
- 450 g of smoked belly
- 450 g Madeta
- 360 g corn (drained)
- 360 g beans (drained)
- 370 g of canned tomatoes
- 25 ml of BBQ sauce
- A teaspoon of chili
- 30 g spring onions
- Jalapeno pepper (chopped)
- Tortilla chips or crackers
Method
- Cut the smoked belly into small pieces in a food processor
- We start mixing it until it is chopped into small pieces
- Transfer the chopped belly to the pan
- Add all the remaining ingredients to it and start cooking slowly at a low temperature
- Mix the ingredients together to melt the cheese
- Cook like this for about 30 minutes until the cheese melts
- When it’s melted, raise the heat slightly and cook for another 10 minutes until the cheese starts to bubble
- Pour the finished spread into a serving bowl and garnish with chopped cilantro and chopped jalapeno
- Served with tortilla chips, toast or bread

Spicy belly spread with garlic
Smoked pork belly in a flood of homemade vegetable salsa covered in melted cheese is what comes to mind when I think of the perfect movie night. The spread served with crispy chips is best eaten while still warm, straight from the oven.
What will we need
- 500 g cooked belly (chopped)
- 250 g grated hard cheese
- 3 bush tomatoes (halved and cored)
- 5 cloves of garlic
- ½ onion (chopped)
- Jalapeno (chopped)
- Handful of coriander (chopped)
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- Salt
- Pepper
- Olive oil
Method
- Coat the baking sheet with olive oil
- Spread the tomatoes, garlic, onion and jalapeno on it
- I put the tray in the oven and grill the vegetables at 200 degrees for about 15 minutes until they start to brown
- We pay particular attention to garlic and jalapeno, which can burn quickly
- Remove the vegetables from the oven and reduce the oven temperature to 180 degrees
- Place the vegetable mixture in a food processor
- Add lime and coriander
- Blend the vegetables in a food processor until smooth and add salt and pepper to taste
- Then pour the vegetable salsa into a large baking dish and add the chopped pork belly
- Place in the oven and bake for approximately 8 minutes
- Remove the dish from the oven, sprinkle with cheese and bake until the cheese melts
- We serve the spread while still warm on toasted bread

Belly toast spread
Cream cheese and creamy belly is a combination you simply have to try. But beware, it is highly addictive.
What will we need
- 230 g of cream cheese
- 40 ml of mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons of mustard
- A teaspoon of pepper
- 30 g pickles (finely chopped)
- 75 g grated hard cheese
- 200 g of smoked belly
- 100 g ham (sliced)
- 100 g salami (sliced)
- A teaspoon of sweet paprika
- Toast bread (toasted)
Method
- We set the oven to the grill mode and turn it on to a temperature of 160 degrees
- Blend the smoked pork belly into small pieces in a kitchen blender
- In a large bowl, mix cream cheese with mayonnaise, mustard and pepper
- Add chopped cucumbers and 50 g of grated cheese
- Mix everything together well
- Then add chopped belly, ham and salami
- Mix everything together to combine the ingredients
- Transfer the belly spread to a baking dish
- Sprinkle it with the remaining grated cheese and paprika
- Place the bowl with the spread in the oven and bake for about an hour
- The spread should start bubbling, then we take it out of the oven, let it rest for a while and serve it with toast

Spread made of roasted belly and beer
What kind of Czech Republic would we be if we didn’t have at least one beer recipe here. Choose your favorite type of beer and you will be amazed at how delicious this dish is.
What will we need
- 1 kg of pork belly
- Whole garlic
- A big onion
- 200 g lard (or butter)
- 4 spoons of mustard
- A spoonful of ground cumin
- 300 ml light beer
- 2 teaspoons of chili
- Salt
- Pepper
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees
- Salt and pepper the belly
- We crush the garlic and then rub it into the belly
- Add cumin and anoint it with mustard
- Roughly chop the onion and pour it into the baking dish
- Place the seasoned pork belly on top of the onion and cover everything with beer
- Put the prepared belly in the preheated oven and bake it for about 2 hours until it becomes soft
- If the liquid evaporates quickly, add beer or water
- Then take the belly out of the oven and the baking tray and put it aside
- Add lard or butter to the baking and let it melt
- Remove the skin from the baked belly
- Let the belly cool slightly, and then cut it into smaller pieces, which we put in a food processor
- Add a little baking powder and mix
- We add the roast depending on how liquid or thick we want the spread from the belly
- The finished spread is served with fresh bread, sprinkled spring onions, pickles and horseradish

Pork belly spread
In a few simple steps, you can create an incredibly delicious dish at home that you can serve on any occasion, because there will never be enough of it.
What will we need
- 200 g of baked belly
- 50 g of belly pastry
- 80 g onion (finely chopped)
- 20 ml of mustard
- 40 g pickles (finely chopped)
- Salt
- Pepper
Method
- Cut the baked belly into small pieces
- We mix them with pastry, onion and mustard
- Mix everything together and mash with a fork
- Mix the finely chopped pickles into the belly spread
- Taste the spread and add salt and pepper to taste
- Before serving, let the spread rest in the fridge for at least 1 hour to let the flavors develop
- The final product is served with fresh bread or fresh vegetables
