Vegetable smoothie with carrot, apple and spinach

Spinach, apple and carrot smoothie is a refreshing and nutritious drink that you must try. You can enjoy it for breakfast with any meal or have it as a mid-day snack.

What will we need

  • 250 g spinach leaves, chopped
  • 1 carrot, peeled and chopped
  • 1 apple
  • 1 spoon of honey
  • 4 sprigs of mint leaves
  • 5 cm ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of flaxseed powder
  • 2 tablespoons of oatmeal
  • 3 ice cubes

Method

  • Add all the ingredients like spinach, carrot, mint, ginger, oats, honey and flaxseed powder in a blender and blend well with very little water to make a smooth paste.
  • Once all the ingredients are well mixed, add a little more water to make a smooth smoothie.

How to prepare carrots?

Roasted : Roasting carrots enhances their sweet taste. It contains natural sugars and does not need any additional flavorings. Salt, pepper and a little butter are perfect. Pre-bake it in foil, uncover and finish baking it uncovered to get a nice brown color.
Blanched and Glazed: Add chopped carrots to boiling water for a few minutes until soft. Remove from water and then saute in butter sauce (try a combination of lemon juice and maple syrup)
Carrot spirals (noodles) : Fry them and cover them with yogurt avocado sauce and create a vegetable salad together with zucchini and pumpkin.
Diced : Add it to soups.
Thinly sliced : Carrots add extra crunch to vegetable salads, coleslaw and Chinese noodles.
