Why are healthy snacks important?

  • Snacking between meals will help keep you from getting too hungry between breakfast, lunch and dinner, helping to prevent overeating.
  • Thanks to a snack, you can also include nutrients and foods in your diet that you missed in previous meals. People who include one to two snacks between meals consume more nutrients, such as fiber, calcium and vitamin C, compared to those who do not snack.
  • Snacking can definitely be a good thing, just make sure you focus on eating nutritious foods . Avoid processed store-bought snacks.
