  • 1/2 cup room temperature unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup cane sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 2 bags of vanilla pudding
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 and 1/4 cup plain flour
  • 1 and 1/2 cups chocolate chips


  1. Cream the butter with the sugar with a hand mixer. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract as well. Blend the mixture until it is fluffy and smooth.
  2. Add the puddings, baking soda and salt. Mix the dough thoroughly.
  3. Add the flour and then mix in the chocolate chips (raisins, candied fruit, etc.).
  4. Make small balls and let them sit in the fridge for at least an hour.
  5. Then take the balls out, put them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and gently press them to make them look like cookies.
  6. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  7. Bake the custard cookies for about 9 to 11 minutes, until the edges are browned.
  8. Leave the cookies to cool and stack them in a box.

Custard rolls

You can really make miracles out of pudding. You can bake, for example, Linnaeus cookies with pudding. In this recipe for line wheels , we describe that it is sufficient to replace part of the plain flour with custard powder.

But let’s get back to the custard rolls. Sweets that even your little ones will love.


  • 220 g plain flour
  • 110 g room temperature butter
  • 100 g of powdered sugar
  • 1 vanilla sugar
  • 40 g of vanilla pudding
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons room temperature milk
  • coconut or ground sugar for coating


  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Beat the egg yolks, sugar and milk in a bowl using a mixer. Then add the room temperature butter, and finally all the other ingredients.
  3. Make the dough and let it rest in the fridge for at least half an hour.
  4. Shape the dough into rolls, or roll it out on a sheet and use the cutters for cutting out.
  5. Line a baking sheet with baking paper and bake this custard Christmas cookie for about 15 minutes.
  6. Wrap them in coconut or sugar while still warm.

Although it is not a classic Christmas cookie with pudding, it is definitely worth a try.

You can prepare it the evening before Christmas Day.


  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1/2 cup cold butter
  • 1 and 1/2 cups chopped cashews
  • 1 package of cottage cheese
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 whipping creams
  • 2 and 2/3 cups of cold milk
  • 1 bag of vanilla pudding
  • 1 bag of chocolate pudding
  • 1 cooking chocolate, chopped into pieces


  1. In a bowl, mix the flour with the butter until it forms a mixture of coarse crumbs.
  2. Add 1 cup of cashews, mix the dough a few times until the ingredients are combined.
  3. Put the resulting dough on a small greased tray and bake it at 180 °C for about 25 minutes. Then cool the dough on a wire rack.
  4. In the meantime, mix the cottage cheese, peanut butter and sugar in a small bowl. Use a hand mixer to achieve a smooth and fluffy cream. Whip the whipping cream and add one cup to the cream.
  5. In another bowl, whisk the milk and both puddings. Then stir one cup of whipped cream into this mixture.
  6. Then put a layer of cream cheese on the baked base, put the custard cream on top and the remaining whipped cream on top. Sprinkle with chopped chocolate and remaining cashews.
  7. Let the dessert set in the fridge for at least an hour.

Traditional Christmas pudding

In our part of the world, Christmas is an essential part of Christmas and carp, while the British cannot imagine Christmas Day without pudding.


  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup of candied fruit
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1 cup finely grated butter
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 large egg

  4. Preheat the oven to 150°C.
  5. Place the pot with the mold in the preheated oven and let the pudding bake for an hour. Before the end of baking, remove the foil and let it finish baking for a while.
TIP : Decorate this pudding with caramel. You need 85 grams of butter, 100 grams of sugar, 200 ml of cream and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Put everything in a saucepan and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Let it bubble for 2 to 3 minutes until the sugar dissolves. Once the mixture is pale caramel and slightly thickened, set the pot aside and pour the caramel over the custard and garnish with the nut mixture.

  1. Make the vanilla pudding first.
  2. If you don’t want your custard cream to curdle, it’s essential that the butter and custard are at the same temperature.
  3. Sprinkle the cooked custard with sugar so that a shell does not form on its surface.
  4. Cream the room temperature butter in a bowl with a little sugar. Slowly add the cooled custard, whisking constantly so that the individual mixtures are perfectly combined. Do this until all the custard is mixed in the butter.
  5. You can then put the custard cream in the fridge, or put it directly on the cookies.
