For the basic marinade:
- 500 ml of water
- 250 ml of vinegar
- 1 spoon of sugar
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 3 balls of allspice
- 2 balls of pepper
- 2 bay leaves
- ¼ hot pepper
To load:
- 600 g of Slovak rolled salami
- 1 clove of garlic
- 2 onions
- 1 red pepper
- a piece of dill
METHOD:
- We prepare the varnish by boiling all the ingredients.
- Let it cool down
- Cut the sausage into rounds, the onion into slices and the garlic and pepper as well.
- Place the sausages on the bottom of the sterilized jam bottle, layer the vegetables on top and continue upwards.
- Finally, we cover everything with the pickle, which has cooled in the meantime.
- Let it sit for at least 14 days in a cool place.

Spicy cheese dips
You will surprise not only vegetarians with a recipe for spicy cheese dips.
INGREDIENTS
- 5 pieces of ermine cheese
- 2 red onions
- full fat mustard
- 5 cloves of garlic
- 1 hot pepper
- 1 capsicum
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley

METHOD
- We will prepare the pickle according to the previous recipe.
- Cut the onion and garlic into slices.
- Cut the cheese in half and slice through.
- Spread mustard on the inside and add capsicum and hot pepper cut into strips.
- Strengthen with a toothpick.
- Place in layers in the jars alternately with the remaining onion, garlic, capsicum and hot peppers.
- At the end, pour the warm pickle over everything.
- After cooling, let it sit in the fridge for about 5 days.

They are really fast. You don’t have to wait two weeks, but you can enjoy it after just 8 hours.
INGREDIENTS:
For the pickle:
- 60 ml of vinegar
- 60 ml of oil
- 60 ml Worcestershire sauce
- 5 spoons of ketchup
- 4 tablespoons of full-fat mustard
- 60 ml of water

Recipe for drowning with cabbage
You can also try this slightly spicy version of drowning with sauerkraut. In short, it’s a classic treat to go with beer and good fresh bread.
INGREDIENTS:
Infusion:
- 175 ml of water
- 350 ml of vinegar
- 1 and a half spoons of sugar
- 6 balls of allspice
- 5 balls of black pepper
- 2 bay leaves
- ¾ teaspoon of salt
To load:
- 8 dumplings
- 2 medium sized onions
- chili
- pepperoni
- 350 g of white sauerkraut
METHOD:
- Boil the ingredients for the pickle.
- Cut the bacon crosswise, put the onion dusted with chili inside.
- Put spekáček in a glass, add a few slices of onion, hot pepper and cabbage.
- We repeat the process all the way up.
- Finally, cover with still warm varnish, just cover the plugs and let them cool.
- Then we only tighten the lids and we can put them in the fridge and let them sit for 14 days.

Homemade drowning eggs
You can use pickled eggs on sandwiches, cold dishes, or cover with pickled vegetables and drizzle with mayonnaise.
INGREDIENTS
- 10 pcs of pickled hard-boiled eggs
- 6 cherry tomatoes
- 2 hot peppers
- 1 piece red meaty pepper
- 1 large onion
- basic pickle
METHOD
- Hard-boil the eggs, peel them when they have cooled down
- We stack them in a glass, while interspersing the eggs with chopped peppers, onions, hard cherry tomatoes and strips or circles of hot peppers.
- Pour the marinade over the eggs, let it cool, and transfer the spices from the marinade into the jars.
- We close the container thoroughly, put it in the refrigerator, after 3 days we can consume it.

Utopenci are a common but spicy folk delicacy with a somewhat strange name.
They are mainly offered in pubs, where there is little or no cooking, because its preparation is actually preservation, albeit with a limited shelf life.
