Is carp suitable for Easter?

Of course, carp is suitable for the Easter table. According to Christian tradition, it should then be eaten on Friday.

Do you know why on Friday? Behind it stands the Norse goddess Freyja, who was the goddess of fertility and harvest. The fish is one of its symbols.

In Asia, carp is considered a lucky fish. Koi carp enjoy a positive symbolic meaning in Japan. The most expensive bred pieces are offered at a price of more than a million dollars.

Similar to other fish, carp also belong to fasting foods. So if you observe the classic Easter fast, you can indulge in carp without regret.

Still not convinced if Easter carp is a good choice? Try, for example, the already mentioned chicken , which is also an unusual but good example of Easter food.
