Fish salad with sweet potatoes
Replace the stereotype of classic potatoes with sweet potatoes, or sweet potatoes. This sweet alternative perfectly complements fried fish on a bed of salad.
What will we need
- 3 large sweet potatoes (peeled and diced)
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 4 tilapia or cod fillets (approx. 400 g)
- 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
- 2 spoons of soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon chili
- 3 snakehead cucumbers
- 150 g arugula
- fresh basil or 2 tablespoons dried basil
- grated lemon peel
- salt
- pepper
Method
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees
- Line a tray with baking paper
- Mix sweet potato cubes with 2 tablespoons of olive oil on a baking sheet
- Salt and pepper
- Bake the sweet potatoes in the oven for approximately 30 minutes, stirring occasionally during baking until they turn brown
- Let the sweet potatoes cool
- In the meantime, fry the fish in the pan in the remaining olive oil
- Salt and pepper the fish
- And bake until the fish is ready
- In a small bowl, mix the lemon juice, soy sauce and chili
- Mix the sweet potatoes, cucumber, arugula, basil and lemon zest in a large bowl, cover with the dressing and mix
- Serve the salad and top with pieces of fried fish

Smoked fish fillet salad
Nutritious yet light vegetable fish salad. This option is great, for example, for summer barbecues, as an alternative to grilled meat. It’s a great refresher.
What will we need
- 250 g of new potatoes
- 4 M-sized eggs
- 4 pickles (cut into small pieces)
- ½ red onion (finely chopped)
- 2 tablespoons of wine vinegar
- 1 spoon of honey
- 130 g of arugula or salad mix
- 125 g of smoked trout
- 3 tablespoons of Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon of dill
Method
- Boil the potatoes in a pot of salted water
- Boil the potatoes for approximately 15 minutes and drain
- Meanwhile, bring the water to the boil in a saucepan and add the eggs
- Cook in boiling water for approximately 7 minutes
- Pour out the water and cool the eggs in cold water
- Put the salad cucumber and onion in a bowl and add honey, vinegar, salt and mix together
- In a small bowl, mix the yogurt, pickles, onion, a teaspoon of cucumber varnish and mix in the dill
- Peel the boiled eggs and cut them in half
- Serve the salad mix on a plate, add smoked trout, drizzle with salad dressing and add an egg
The salad can also be served with smoked salmon.

The Thai experiment
The original Thai fish salad is an explosion of flavors that will completely get you. Enjoy the unusual combination of grapefruit, chili peppers and smoked salmon in one delicious Thai dish.
What will we need
- 250 g of smoked salmon
- 1 large carrot
- 2 red grapefruits
- 1 small chili pepper or chili powder
- 240 g Chinese cabbage (finely chopped)
- 15 g roasted peanuts (coarsely chopped)
- 15 g of fried onions
- ½ red onion (thinly sliced)
Method
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees
- Peel the carrot and do not cut it into strips
- Peel the grapefruit and cut it into cubes
- Squeeze one tablespoon of juice from one half of a grapefruit
- Mix the juice with the chili and set aside
- In a bowl, mix carrot, grapefruit, onion and Chinese cabbage with grapefruit dressing
- Add pieces of smoked salmon, nuts and fried onion on top

Fish salad with carp chips
Carp is a typical Czech fish. And it is typical to serve it with potato salad. But why not try this combination of carp chips and tomato salad. This variant is much lighter and a bit healthier than the classic Christmas dish.
What will we need
For carp
- 1.5 kg – 2 kg of carp
- flour
- 2 eggs
- Bread crumbs or crushed corn flakes
- salt
- pepper
- frying oil
For mayonnaise
- 1 egg yolk
- 30 ml of water
- chopped dill
- 1 lemon
- 250 ml of oil
- 10 ml of rice vinegar
- 10 g Dijon mustard
For the salad
- Fresh summer tomatoes
- Lemon juice
- Olive oil
- Balsamic vinegar
- Shallot (finely chopped)
- Salt
- Pepper
Method
- Cut the carp meat into strips
- We season it with salt and pepper and wrap it in a triple package – flour, egg, breadcrumbs
- Heat the oil in a pan, fry the carp pieces and let them drain
- Meanwhile, beat the egg yolk with water and vinegar
- Gradually add the oil
- Finally, add lemon zest, lemon juice and dill
- Cut the tomatoes in half, drizzle with lemon juice, add oil, shallot and season with salt and pepper and drizzle with balsamic vinegar
- Tomato salad is served with fried carp chips and drizzled with homemade mayonnaise

Fish salad with mayonnaise
We all know the classic fish salad from the supermarket. However, this is something else entirely. The taste of a salad prepared at home will completely amaze you and you will never go back to store-bought.
What will we need
- 1 kg of cod or trout fillets
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- ½ garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon ground pepper
- 250 g of mayonnaise
- 100 g onion (finely chopped)
- 100 g of stalked celery
- 1 teaspoon of dried dill
- 1 teaspoon of salt
Method
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees
- Grease or line the baking sheet with baking paper
- Mix butter, granulated garlic and pepper in a bowl
- Place the fish fillets on a baking sheet and brush them with the butter mixture
- Bake in the oven for 15-25 minutes until the meat is soft
- Mix mayonnaise, onion, celery, dill and salt in a large bowl
- Add the cooled fish to the mayonnaise and mix
- Let rest in the fridge before serving. TIP Serve with crackers, on toasted bread or on a bed of salad.

Homemade fish salad with tomatoes
If you are a tomato lover, then this recipe is exactly for you. Fish fillet in combination with juicy tomatoes, as if inviting to taste. The recipe is inspired by a world-famous chef, so there can be no doubt about its taste.
What will we need
- Extra virgin olive oil
- 2 lemons
- Salt
- Pepper
- 400 g fish fillet (cod, trout, tilapia)
- marjoram or oregano
- 800 g mix of cherry tomatoes
- 2 fennels
- 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar
- 1 chili pepper
Method
- Mix olive oil with lemon juice, a pinch of salt and pepper
- Coat the fish fillets with the mixture and sprinkle with basil or oregano
- Heat a little oil in a pan
- Place the fillets on the pan and cook for about 2 minutes on each side
- Finely chop the tomatoes for the salad and season with salt and pepper
- Finely chop the fennel and transfer it to a bowl, where we mix it with olive oil and lemon juice
- Mix the tomato salad with fennel and put it on a plate
- Place the fried fish on top, drizzle with balsamic vinegar and sprinkle with chili pepper
