- 1 kg of potatoes
- 2 onions
- 200g of smoked meat
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 500g cheese (gouda, edam, whatever you want)
- 150 ml of milk or cream

Method
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Place the potatoes in a pot of cold water, making sure the potatoes are completely submerged.
- Salt the water, then bring it to a boil and let it cook for about 10 – 15 minutes. Then drain the potatoes and let them cool.
- Meanwhile, peel and chop the onion and garlic. Coarsely chop the smoked meat.
- Heat the olive oil in a large pan and sauté the bacon and onion for approx. 3 minutes Add the garlic and sauté for another 2 minutes.
- Cut the cooled potatoes into slices or mash with a potato masher. Spread half of the potatoes in the baking dish.
- Salt, pepper and spread half of the roasted smoked meat with onion and garlic. Then sprinkle with half the cheese.
- Add the other half of the potatoes, salt and pepper and sprinkle the other half with the smoked onion mixture.
- Finally, sprinkle with the rest of the cheese, cover with milk or cream.
- Bake at 180°C for approx. 30 – 40 minutes, until the potatoes are golden brown on top.

Method
