When preparing these fruit salad recipes, it is a good idea to choose seasonal foods. You can use either just one type of fruit or different mixtures, which are usually even tastier.

Fruit salad can be supplemented with all kinds of nuts, seeds, raisins, sometimes even slices of dried fruit, or compote fruit.

We sweeten with honey or sugar as needed, and prepare the dressing according to taste or according to the recipe.

Fruit and vegetable salad in combination

The combination of fruits and vegetables is very popular and modern. Such a salad can be eaten as a snack or a light dinner. It has many vitamins in it and it is a novel taste combination.

What will we need

  • 100 g mix of green salads
  • 10 large ripe strawberries
  • red grapefruit
  • a few mint leaves
  • 50 g of goat cheese
  • juice of half a lemon
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • ½ tablespoon of balsamic vinegar


  1. Tear the lettuce leaves and put them in a bowl.
  2. Peel the grapefruit and remove the inner skin so that there is only pure pulp in the salad.
  3. Cut the strawberries into medium-sized pieces.
  4. We prepare the dressing from olive oil, which we mix in a bowl with balsamic vinegar and a pinch of salt.
  5. After the dressing has a creamy consistency, add the juice of half a lemon and a spoonful of water.
  6. Add vegetables and fruit – salad, strawberries and grapefruit – to the bowl and mix thoroughly with the dressing.
  7. Served with crumbled goat’s cheese and garnished with mint leaves.

Fruit salad with watermelon and pineapple

This refreshing summer fruit salad features plums, peaches, watermelon, raspberries and mint.

What will we need

  • ½ pineapple (peeled, pitted and cut into small pieces)
  • ½ seedless watermelon (rind removed, flesh cut into pieces)
  • 2 red plums (sliced)
  • 2 peaches (sliced)
  • 150 g of raspberries
  • 60 g of fresh mint leaves


  • Mix all ingredients in a large bowl.

Mixed fruit salad with blueberries and yogurt dressing

Nutritionists will love you for this combination, thanks to the proteins contained in the yogurt, the salad will keep you full for longer and become a nutritionally balanced dish. For a less diet option, replace yogurt with cream and serve yourself or your kids a tasty fruit cup.

What will we need

  • 150 g of plain yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 banana
  • ½ cup blueberries
  • ½ cup raspberries
  • 1 cup of strawberries
  • 1 cup of grape wine


  1. Mix yogurt, honey and vanilla extract.
  2. Cut the banana into slices and pour orange juice in a separate bowl.
  3. Cut the grape balls in half and add them to the bowl with the banana along with the rest of the fruit.
  4. Place the finished salad in serving bowls and pour yogurt over it.

What will we need

  • 2 spoons of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of orange peel
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons of orange juice
  • ½ tablespoon of lime juice


  1. Mix all the ingredients carefully in a small bowl.
  2. Pour over the chopped fruit and serve.

How to prevent browning of fruit in salad?

Molecules known as enzymes are trapped inside the fruit tissue. These enzymes help the fruit to ripen, but also to turn brown. When the fruit is cut, the enzyme is released and upon contact with air, the fruit begins to change color – turning brown.

Prevent browning of cut fruits such as apples, pears, bananas and peaches:

  • Brush them with an acidic juice such as lemon, orange or pineapple juice.
  • Use a commercial anti-browning product and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Mix them in a fruit salad with sour fruits such as oranges, tangerines, grapefruit and other citrus fruits or pineapple. First, prepare the sour fruit. Then chop the rest of the fruit and mix everything together.
  • Mix the fruit with honey water, prepared from 2 spoons of honey and 1 cup of water.

Cover and refrigerate the fruit salad until ready to serve.
