  • Rinse the parsley, chop it into small pieces and, like the garlic and onion, add it to the bowl with the butter.
  • Add salt, pepper and mix thoroughly.

Avocado mixture with garlic and basil

This garlic spread is made from avocado and it’s kind of like a dip in which you can dip crunchy vegetables or tortilla chips. However, it is also a mixture to spread on a fresh baguette.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large avocados
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 small red onion
  • 1 handful of fresh basil leaves
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  • Lightly squeeze the garlic and bake in a small baking dish for about 15 minutes at 180°C.
  • When it is baked, we peel it from the skin and put it in a bowl, where we mash it with a fork.
  • Cut the avocado in half, remove the stone and scoop out the pulp with a spoon.
  • Add to the garlic and also mash carefully.
  • Peel, halve and finely chop the onion.
  • If we don’t want to smell the onion too much, we only put half.
  • Rinse the basil and cut the leaves into small pieces.
  • Put everything in a bowl, add salt and mix thoroughly to create a smooth mixture.

Zucchini garlic cream

A slightly spicy “garlic soup” with zucchini will please many gourmets. It has a delicate, balanced taste, but at the same time it can, as they say, crack the neck. It’s great on fresh bread or with chips.

Ingredients:

The classic garlic spread is unrivaled, but sometimes it doesn’t hurt to experiment a little. In addition, when we spread it on French bread and bake it in the oven, we will be licking our ears.

  • 1 cube of softened butter
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Add salt, pepper and beat everything thoroughly so that the mixture is nice and fluffy.
  • Spread the finished spread on both halves of the bread.
  • Fold together and carefully wrap in aluminum foil.
  • Place on a baking sheet and place in a preheated oven.
  • Bake for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Then remove the foil and let it bake for another 5-7 minutes.
  • As soon as the bread has a golden brown shade, we are done.
  • Of course, the spread can be eaten fresh, but baked like this, it is bombastic.

What is DIP and why is it not a spread?

In the context of gastronomy, we often come across the term DIP. It is taken from the English original, which translates into Czech as to soak. Many mistakenly consider it one of the alternatives to spreads, but it is not so.

It is therefore a sauce in which we can dip various dishes. Someone dips cheese, chips, but also roast leg or ribs into it. In short, anything that can be served with this delicacy.

The sauce/dip is served separately, most often in a small bowl, so it is not poured over the food, as with other types of sauces.

What can form the basis?

  • Yoghurt.
  • Sour cream.
  • Crème fraîche.
  • Mayonnaise

However, we can also meet dips based on chocolate, ketchup or olive oil itself. There are no limits to imagination and everyone tastes something different.
