  • 2 larger salmon fillets, or a whole fillet from one salmon
  • 1 lemon
  • fresh rosemary
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • fresh juice of one lemon
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • fresh herbs (thyme, parsley, basil, dill) for decoration
  • salt pepper

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Spread the foil on the baking sheet, in which you will then place the salmon, and lightly coat it with oil.
  3. Place a few sprigs of rosemary on the foil, depending on the size of the fillet.
  4. Cut the lemon into rounds and place them on the rosemary sprigs.
  5. Salt and pepper the salmon, drizzle with olive oil and place on foil.
  6. Then sprinkle the salmon with finely chopped garlic cloves and cover it with the remaining lemon slices and rosemary.
  7. Pour fresh lemon juice over the salmon prepared in this way.
  8. Fold the foil over the salmon so that it is completely covered and it forms a kind of package. If the prepared aluminum foil is not enough for you, use another one.
  9. Do not close the package completely tightly, leave a little space under the foil to allow air to circulate better.
  10. Place the salmon in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on the height and size of the fillets.
  11. Then remove the salmon from the oven and open the foil.
  12. Then return it to the oven for another 3-5 minutes and bake without the top layer of foil.

Why include salmon in your diet?

Salmon is considered one of the healthiest foods for our heart. The reason is primarily that it contains a large amount of so-called omega-3 fatty acids.

These acids have a very beneficial effect on our cardiovascular system. They significantly reduce the risk of heart arrhythmias and at the same time have the ability to dissolve dangerous cholesterol in our blood. For this reason as well, some doctors recommend eating salmon at least twice a week.

Baked salmon is of course not the only option to include this healthy delicacy in your diet, grilled, marinated or smoked salmon is also great.

Salmon with or without skin?

It can be said that it doesn’t matter. You can eat and prepare it both with and without the skin.

If for some reason you don’t like the skin, it’s better to remove it after baking, because during baking it releases fat, which not only gives your dish a better taste, but also contains a lot of health-promoting substances.

Last but not least, keep in mind that skinless meat falls apart more easily, which can make cooking more difficult.
