Oatmeal=the basis of a healthy breakfast
Oatmeal mainly contains slow-dissolving sugars, which means that energy is released slowly. This makes them an ideal breakfast food. The easiest way is to mix oatmeal with yogurt or milk, but there are many more options and flavors!
A classic dietary recipe for a good morning is oatmeal , which you can easily prepare yourself at home. If you are in a hurry, you can choose from instant semi-finished products, but these are often heavily sweetened with white sugar, which is not so healthy. That's why it's best to prepare fresh porridge from homemade ingredients every morning and sweeten it with honey or date syrup, for example.
Oatmeal is also used in making wholemeal baked goods, from bread rolls to bread. If you like to bake, you can easily prepare homemade oatmeal cookies at home or perhaps a healthier oatmeal cake with fruit and crumbs.
Muesli or granola?
If you prefer a quick breakfast, choose cereal muesli or granola. Don't you know the difference between them? Classic muesli was traditionally prepared in alpine regions and was a mixture of oat (and other cereal) flakes with raisins, nuts and available dried fruit. In our country, this dish is referred to as loose muesli.
On the other hand, you make granola by baking the whole mixture in the oven, usually with honey and a little fat, e.g. coconut oil. In our country, granola is sometimes called baked muesli, but the best is always homemade granola , which you can mix exactly according to what you like.
Oatmeal in the main course
Oatmeal is also commonly used as part of hot meals. Oatmeal pancakes and other pancakes are definitely among the most common foods made from flakes . For lunch, you can also prepare the already mentioned oatmeal, or use the flakes to thicken the mass for meatballs, whether meat or vegetable.
Vegetable soup with flakes instead of pasta is also excellent, and sometimes we can also find flakes in tomato soup.
