Roasted meat with vegetables in the Asian style is a quick dish that will please all your taste buds. See for yourself!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon of sesame oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon chili sauce (sriracha)
  • 1 teaspoon cane sugar
  • 1/4 head of cabbage
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 teaspoon of rapeseed oil
  • 300 g of ground beef
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • a piece of ginger
  • salt
  • pepper
  • sesame seeds

Method

  1. Mix soy and chili sauce, sesame oil and cane sugar.
  2. Set aside to rest.
  3. Chop the cabbage, carrot, onion, garlic and ginger into slices.
  4. Heat the pan and rapeseed oil.
  5. Saute the minced meat together with the onion, garlic and ginger.
  6. Salt and pepper.
  7. Add cabbage and carrots.
  8. Stir until the cabbage begins to wilt.
  9. Add the prepared sauce.
  10. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and you can serve.

Meatballs with sauerkraut

They say that the German diet is just burritos and cabbage. Well, you can really find cabbage in our recipe. Try the following dish and you will see that the cuisine of our neighbors should not be underestimated.

Ingredients

  • 150 g of ground beef
  • 150 g of ground pork
  • 1/2 onion finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tablespoon chopped chives
  • 1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • rapeseed oil
  • 400 g of sauerkraut

Method

  1. Mix all ingredients except cabbage and oil in a bowl.
  2. Form meatballs (or meatballs).
  3. Heat a pan with oil.
  4. Put the cabbage together with the meatballs in the pan and sauté.
  5. Add a little water, cover and simmer for approximately 15 minutes.
  6. Serve with boiled potatoes.

Slow-braised beef with crispy cabbage and root vegetables

Looking for a recipe for the perfect holiday dinner? Then try, for example, this luxurious beef with vegetables prepared in a slow cooker.

Ingredients

For the beef:

  • 1,200 g of beef suitable for stewing
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of dried garlic
  • 1 and 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup white vein
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed sea salt
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 tablespoon bacon fat (or coconut or extra virgin olive oil)
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch or tapioca flour

For vegetables:

  • 3 carrots
  • 2 turnips
  • 1 onion
  • 1 turnip
  • 1 potato
  • 1 small head of white cabbage
  • 1 small head of red cabbage
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil, rendered bacon fat, or melted coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper

Method

  1. Mix mustard, paprika, black pepper and garlic in a bowl.
  2. Dry the meat with a paper towel and sprinkle it evenly on all sides with the spices and spread it with your fingers.
  3. While you prepare the vegetables, let the meat sit on the plate for at least 30 minutes to reach room temperature.
  4. In a small saucepan, bring the stock, wine, vinegar, salt and bay leaves to a boil.
  5. Turn the flame to low and keep hot.
  6. Heat the fat or oil in a heavy pan.
  7. When it starts to shimmer, add the meat and cook for about three minutes on each side.
  8. Place stock in a large slow cooker on Low.
  9. Add the beef.
  10. Cover and cook for 8-10 hours.
  11. When the meat is ready, remove it to a cutting board.
  12. Drain the pan juices into a small saucepan, but skim off most of the fat first.
  13. Place 1/4 cup of the juice along with the cornstarch or tapioca flour in a small bowl and whisk until smooth.
  14. Place a pan over medium heat and bring to a boil.
  15. Cook the sauce until it thickens.
  16. Peel all the vegetables and cut them into pieces of the same size.
  17. Cut the cabbage into wedges, remove the cores.
  18. Mix the vegetables well with the oil or fat.
  19. Sprinkle with black pepper and a pinch of sea salt.
  20. Spread the vegetables on a baking tray, cover with foil and put in the fridge.
  21. 40 minutes before serving, preheat the oven to 230 degrees Celsius.
  22. Remove the baking tray from the fridge and make sure the vegetables are at room temperature before putting them in the oven.
  23. Bake for 30 minutes until the vegetables are fork-tender, then remove the foil and bake for a further 10 minutes until the vegetables are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
  24. Serve with sauce and meat.

Dumplings with cabbage and smoked meat

Traditional Slovak food, which is also very popular in our country! Cook luxurious homemade gnocchi with sauerkraut and smoked meat that your whole family will enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 500 g of potatoes
  • 250 g of sauerkraut
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 egg
  • some plain flour
  • 250 g of smoked meat
  • a little oil
  • 1 onion

Method

  1. Peel the potatoes and grate them on a coarse grater.
  2. Add the egg, salt and plain flour to them.
  3. Work out a semi-solid dough from which to shape gnocchi, which you drop into boiling salted water.
  4. Fry the finely chopped onion in hot oil.
  5. Add the sauerkraut, diced smoked meat and finally the drained gnocchi.
  6. Mix everything and serve immediately.

Roast pork with sauerkraut

Fry the pork roast in butter, which will give it a nice brown crust. If you add apples and sauerkraut to it, you suddenly have a wonderful warm autumn meal on the table.

Ingredients

  • 900 g sauerkraut, uncooked
  • 1 medium apple, cored, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons of cane sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • 1 (900-1400 grams) boneless pork roast
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of butter

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C.
  2. Combine the sauerkraut, apple, onion, cane sugar, and maple syrup in a large bowl and set aside.
  3. Sprinkle the pork roast with salt and pepper.
  4. Melt the butter in a 5-quart saucepan and when it starts to sizzle, add the pork.
  5. Saute over medium heat (turning several times during this process) for 7-9 minutes or until browned.
  6. Add sauerkraut mixture.
  7. Cover and place in the oven.
  8. Bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until pork roast reaches an internal temperature of 150°F (71°C).
  9. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the sauerkraut to a serving bowl.
  10. Place the pork roast on top of the sauerkraut and serve.

Cabbage keto rolls filled with minced meat

This low-carb version of cabbage rolls is just as satisfying as the original. Her secret is cauliflower rice! Prepare them today.

Ingredients

For the sauce:

  • 1 (400ml) tin of diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon of dried onion
  • 1 teaspoon of dried garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

For the rolls:

  • 12 green leaves
  • 500 g of ground beef
  • 350 g of minced pork
  • 1 cup cauliflower, chopped into rice-sized grains
  • 3 spring onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley plus more for serving
  • ground black pepper to taste

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C.
  2. Purée the tomatoes, apple cider vinegar, chili, dried onion, dried garlic and oregano in a blender and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat the oil in a large, deep skillet (or large pot) over medium heat.
  4. Add the tomato sauce, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 20 minutes, until slightly thickened.
  5. In a large pot of boiling water, blanch the cabbage leaves until soft and pliable, about 1 minute.
  6. Set aside.
  7. Prepare the filling: in a large bowl, combine ½ cup of the tomato sauce with the ground meat, cauliflower rice, spring onions, and parsley.
  8. Season with salt and pepper.
  9. Spread a thin layer of sauce on the bottom of a large baking dish.
  10. Cut a hard triangular rib from each cabbage leaf with a knife.
  11. Place about ⅓ cup of the filling on one end of each sheet, then roll up, tucking in the sides as you roll.
  12. Place the rolls seam side down on top of the sauce in the baking dish.
  13. Pour the remaining sauce over the cabbage rolls.
  14. Bake for 45 minutes to 55 minutes, until the meat is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 65°C.
  15. Garnish with parsley before serving.

Cabbage soup with beef

This nutritious, low-carb cabbage and beef soup is packed with flavor. It’s beautifully warm and you won’t feel heavy after it. So let’s prepare it!

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 550 g of beef suitable for stewing
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • ½ cup chopped celery stalks
  • ½ cup chopped carrots
  • 6 cloves of garlic, pressed
  • 6 cups of beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons of vinegar
  • 1 spoon of granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon of dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon of dried garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of dried onion
  • 1 bay leaf
  • ½ large cabbage cut into pieces

Method

  1. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
  2. Salt, pepper and fry the beef in batches for about 2-3 minutes per batch.
  3. Do not overcrowd the pot, the meat will steam rather than brown.
  4. Remove the browned beef to a plate.
  5. Add the onion and use a spatula to remove the brown bits from the bottom of the pan.
  6. Saute onion for 4-6 minutes or until translucent.
  7. Add the garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds.
  8. Add the sautéed beef, chopped celeriac, carrots, beef broth, sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, thyme, rosemary, dried garlic, dried onion, and bay leaf.
  9. Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 1 1/2 – 2 hours or until beef is tender.
  10. Add the cabbage during the last 15-20 minutes of cooking so that it is not too mushy.
  11. Taste and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  12. Serve garnished with chopped parsley along with crackers or crusty bread!
