Chives or “chives” and their effects on health
Chives are a perennial vegetable that grows wild in the cold regions of Europe. It can grow up to 30cm and in late spring it even blooms with purple inflorescences that can also be eaten.
This beneficial plant contains vitamin C, B2, garlic oil and a whole range of minerals, such as calcium, phosphorus, sodium, iron and others.
What is little known is the fact that chives stimulate your appetite. It also supports digestion and, as it is diuretic, it is an ideal food for spring cleansing and peels. Pregnant and lactating women can also use it.
And what can chives be used for besides a spread?
For starters, it’s good to know that you shouldn’t dry chives. After drying, it loses its aroma. Better to freeze it.
Never cook chives, use them fresh and at the very end of food preparation. It goes well with cottage cheese, fresh cheeses, various salads, egg dishes and also sauces. Herb butter with chives is also very tasty.
Schnitzel is also excellent in scrambled eggs, in soups, with mushrooms, sea fish or simply on bread and butter.
So we already know that chives go well with almost everything. You will certainly use it when preparing our other recipes for non-traditional spreads.
