Potatoes and baking
When baking pastries, we usually do not think that we could add or even replace flour, sugar and other typical ingredients with potatoes. But our potato bun recipes are proof that it is possible. Boiled or raw potatoes give the dessert an original taste and consistency, and at the same time keep it supple for much longer. It is generally recommended to use mealy potatoes, cooking type C.
Potato bun recipes exist not only in the sweet form of puff pastry. They can also be prepared salty, especially with onions, garlic and ham or cheese. These dishes are most often eaten warm, for example with sauerkraut, similar to potato pancakes, or also with soup, for example mushroom soup.
