White grains of steamed rice are a very suitable side dish especially to stewed meat dishes, both with sauce and natural juice.

This cereal, which came to Europe from China, has its place in our country today and is prepared in several ways.

Rice noodles with chicken and vegetables

This is a quick and easy rice noodle recipe that you can prepare in 30 minutes. The recipe is perfect for busy weekends, plus it’s lighter and healthier than takeout!

What will we need

  • 150 g of rice noodles
  • 20 g of unsalted walnuts
  • 75 g of small mushrooms
  • 1 spring onion
  • 175 g Chinese cabbage
  • 150 g of boiled chicken
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon of cane sugar
  • 1 garlic
  • 1 chili pepper
  • 50 g of green peas, can also be frozen
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 lime
  • 5 spoons of soy sauce


  1. Cook the rice noodles according to the instructions on the package.
  2. Dry roast the nuts in a pan.
  3. Clean the champignons and spring onion.
  4. Cut the mushrooms in half, cut the onion into rounds.
  5. Clean the cabbage and cut it into strips. Tear the meat into pieces.
  6. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the mushrooms for 3-4 minutes.
  7. Add sugar, finely chopped peeled garlic and chili pepper cut into rounds.
  8. Fry for a short time.
  9. Stir in the thawed peas, half of the spring onion, meat and cabbage.
  10. Add the egg and mix it with the vegetable mixture.
  11. Finally, add the drained noodles and season the mixture with lime juice and soy sauce.
  12. Sprinkle the prepared dish with roasted nuts and the remaining spring onion.

Fried rice with egg

This Chinese fried rice recipe is quick and easy to make and so irresistibly delicious.

What will we need

  • 200 g long-grain wild rice
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 fennel
  • 1 handful of parsley
  • frying oil
  • salt pepper

To serve

  • 2 eggs
  • frying oil
  • salt pepper
  • watercress sprouts


  1. Cook the rice according to the instructions on the package.
  2. Leftover rice from the previous day is also great.
  3. Peel the onion and garlic and chop finely.
  4. Heat the pan, add oil and onion.
  5. Saute for a while, add garlic and saute until translucent.
  6. Clean the carrot and grate it on a coarse grater.
  7. Cut the fennel into thin slices and add to the pan together with the carrots.
  8. Fry for a while and add cooked rice.
  9. Season with chopped parsley, salt and pepper.
  10. Heat a pan with oil and beat the egg into it and let it fry slowly.
  11. Salt and pepper with freshly ground pepper.
  12. Serve the fried rice with a fried egg and sprinkle with watercress sprouts.

Steamed rice in the oven

Oven-baked rice is an easy and reliable way to cook it perfectly every time. It only takes 30 minutes and results in a delicious side dish!

What will we need

for 4 people, 1 mug=300 ml

  • 1 full cup of rice
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 1 onion
  • a few peppercorns
  • 8 cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


  1. Heat a pot with oil.
  2. Rinse the rice and put it in the pot.
  3. We fry from all sides.
  4. Cover the rice with water and salt.
  5. We can transfer the rice to the baking dish if we don’t have a pot that can be used in the oven. A glass baking dish has the advantage that we can see from the side how much rice and how much water we have.
  6. Put a whole peeled onion in the middle of the rice, stick a clove into it.
  7. Close the lid and simmer in a preheated oven at approx. 200° for 30-35 minutes.
