Potatoes go well with baking sauces , which we pour over them.

The simplest can be considered a little milk, cream or sour cream, which we use either alone or seasoned with spices, mustard or other seasonings.

Another suitable baking sauce is pre-cooked béchamel made from fat, flour and milk or broth. Béchamel can be flavored in various ways, and the flavoring can also be used with potatoes.

Even from the cheese itself, especially from several types of cheese, we can prepare a cheese sauce by dissolving them in milk or cream and after seasoning, use it for baking.

In mushroom season, you can prepare , for example, baked potatoes with mushrooms . If you don’t want to wait that long, you can also use purchased mushrooms.

How to bake potatoes?

We can bake boiled or raw potatoes, both sliced or coarsely grated. Boiled ones only need to be baked for a much shorter time, after baking they are guaranteed to be soft and they also maintain a softer consistency even after baking.

Raw potatoes require at least 45-50 minutes to bake, but tend to be crispier after baking. During the preparation, we can also choose a compromise, where we cook the potatoes until semi-soft.

We don’t need to peel them before cooking, we can cook them in their skins and peel them after cooking. We only peel old potatoes and raw potatoes. We don’t even have to peel raw potatoes that have a nice skin, but we have to wash the skin thoroughly under water with a brush.

We can bake potatoes with almost all types of cheese and add other ingredients according to the recipe or taste.
