And how to properly store candy?

Before we get into tips on how to preserve and store candy, we need to be clear that each type of candy needs to be stored in a different way.

Store dry candies , such as Linnaeus (without filling), vanilla rolls, or prabny, in tin or plastic containers that are lined with napkins. If you use a paper box, your cookies might get too wet on the balcony.

Store sweets with filling or icing in plastic containers and in the refrigerator. It’s the same with sweets glued with cream or marmalade. You can also store this candy in a paper box in a cool place.

Otherwise, it’s gingerbread . Store them in a container lined with aluminum foil and sprayed with rum. The top must also be covered with foil again and the container tightly closed.

Coconuts and snow cookies are best stored in a paper bag. Never put them in the fridge or in a tin or plastic container – they will get wet and not good.

What about unbaked candy ? This is mainly intended for quick consumption and should only be stored for a short time. The best thing to do is to store it in a cardboard box lined with aluminum foil.

And if you happen to have some candy left over after the holidays , you can keep it in the freezer all year round. However, there are exceptions here too, as snow cookies and coconuts do not belong in the freezer. Then, when you feel like it during the year, just take it out, let it slowly thaw and you can reminisce about Christmas.
